What does an F&B consultant do for a new café or restaurant?
An F&B consultant guides a new venue from concept to opening, covering the decisions that are hardest to change later. Our consulting includes concept development, menu engineering, operational strategy and launch planning, alongside brand identity, 2D and 3D design of the space, efficient kitchen layouts and a community-focused marketing plan. Because we also produce the photography and content, the launch visuals are planned with the brand rather than added at the end.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. The first consultation with our F&B team is complimentary. Book a free call through our contact page or call us on +971 4 587 4633, and use the time to talk through your concept, location and opening timeline. We will tell you where we can help, whether that is the full journey from concept to launch or a single piece such as branding, menu design or launch content.
When should I bring in a consultant when opening a café?
As early as possible, ideally while the concept and the space are still being decided. Branding and menu decisions shape the fit-out, kitchen layout, packaging and photography, so settling them before construction avoids costly changes later. Starting early also gives you 3D visualisations to take to mall management or the developer for approval, and leaves time to plan the launch content properly.
Can you design my café in 3D before the fit-out starts?
Yes. We produce 2D and 3D designs of the café that show how the space will look and work before construction begins, which helps you finalise the interior and secure mall or developer approval. For Plantoholic, a plant-based café on Palm Jumeirah, our 3D café design was approved by Nakheel. The designs are developed alongside your brand identity, so the space reflects the same look as your logo and packaging.
Do you work with investors who are new to F&B?
Yes. We work with investors, high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs entering the F&B sector, and we plan around what they need: a concept that stands out, a menu engineered for profit, and operational and marketing plans built for the UAE market. First-time owners often benefit most, because coordinating brand, menu, design and launch content is the part that is hardest to manage alone.
What did Food On Focus do for Plantoholic?
We took Plantoholic, a plant-based café on Palm Jumeirah, from concept to post-launch. The work covered a brand identity built around a leaf logo with vibrant green and earthy neutrals, eco-friendly packaging, a strategic menu, the 3D café design, and a community-focused marketing plan with social media, SEO, PPC and seasonal campaigns. The café was featured by Time Out Dubai and Visit Dubai, and the full case study shows the work.
Do you also handle launch photography and marketing?
Yes. We produce the launch photography, video and social content ourselves, so the visuals reflect the new identity from opening day, and we can carry on with marketing after launch, from social media to targeted campaigns. Plan the launch shoot for two to three weeks before opening night, once plating is settled, and use our pre-launch photography checklist to plan what to shoot.
